Review – THE CHATEAU by Tiffany Reisz

The Chateau by Tiffany Reisz is now LIVE!! Grab yourself some Kingsley and enjoy this thrilling and erotic ride!

As the Jack-of-All-Wicked-Trades for a secretive French military intelligence agency, 24-year-old Lieutenant Kingsley Boissonneault has done it all—spied, lied, and killed under orders. But his latest assignment is quite out of the ordinary. His commanding officer’s nephew has disappeared inside a sex cult, and Kingsley has been tasked with bringing him home to safety.

The cult’s holy book is Story of O, the infamous French novel of extreme sado-masochism. Their château is a looking-glass world where women reign and men are their willing slaves. Or are they willing? It’s Kingsley’s mission to find out.

Once inside the château, however, Kingsley quickly falls under the erotic spell cast by the enigmatic Madame, a woman of wisdom, power, and beauty. She offers Kingsley the one thing he’s always wanted. But the price? Giving up forever the only person he’s ever loved.

*The Chateau is a new standalone Original Sinners novel from international bestseller Tiffany Reisz, author of The Siren and The Lucky Ones.*

It’s been no secret that this year has seen the Original Sinners series by Tiffany Reisz become my favourite series of all time. After finally starting these book in January, I have read and re-read them, and so when I heard that Kingsley was getting his own book where we go back in time to witness what he got up to during his time in the French Foreign Legion, I couldn’t contain my excitement!

I dove in almost as soon as The Chateau hit my kindle, and I immediately got lost in Kingsley’s world. Getting to know a younger Kingsley during the period of time where Søren wasn’t in his life, at least not in the physical form anyway, was interesting to say the least.

I loved seeing this part of him – it was the Kingsley we love, all while also being someone new, at least to us. I loved his time at the Chateau, the twists, the memories, the whole ride. It was a thrilling and incredibly sexy read, which should come as no surprise being a novel about the one and only Kingsley Boissonneault. As soon as I finished, I went right back to the beginning. A fantastic addition to an incredible series.

Tiffany Reisz lives on Mt. Hood in Oregon in her secret volcanic lair with her husband (author Andrew Shaffer) and two cats (one good, one evil).

If she couldn’t write, she would die. Probably in a volcano eruption.

Review – TETHERED SOULS by Beth Flynn

Beth Flynn is back with a Nine Minutes spin-off novel about Mimi and Christian Bear!! Check out my review and get clicking!!

My family has secrets. I’m always the good girl, doing what’s necessary to keep my loved ones safe. I’ve kept the darkest secrets from everyone I know. As painful as it is to hold them all inside where they live and gnaw away at me, that’s where they must stay.

I haven’t seen my closest childhood friend, Christian Bear, since I was a teenager—he hasn’t changed a bit. He’s still temperamental and plays by his own rules with the law following two steps behind him.

Christian remembers me. But he doesn’t know the first thing about me anymore. I should’ve shared my feelings with him the day before I moved away with my family, promising him I’d stay in touch. It broke my heart when he didn’t keep his end of the bargain. As a consequence, we haven’t spoken in years. Even though Christian and I have always had undeniable chemistry, I won’t let him shatter my heart a second time.

Christian has shown up in my life again with secrets of his own, and demanding answers. That doesn’t mean I’m willing to give them. He’ll know my secrets when I’m ready.

Our secrets, the risks we’re taking, and the danger he imposes make it impossible to know what our future holds.

Either our tethered souls will bind back together, or our secrets will separate us forever.

The Nine Minutes series by Beth Flynn is one of my absolute favourites so I love any and every chance I get to revisit these characters. We first got to do it with The Iron Tiara (Anthony Bears story) and now we get to do it with Tethered Souls – the story of Mimi (Grizz’s daughter) and Christian (Anthony’s son). Like all of Beth’s books, this was one that gripped me and had me rushing to get to the end.

I absolutely love Christian! His love for Mimi since they were children has been apparent throughout the entire series, and I was so happy they finally got their chance at a HEA. Christian is not a guy you would want to get on the wrong side of, but when it comes to Mimi he’s a big teddy bear!! Mimi has also always been a great character for me – she’s tough and doesn’t let people walk all over her, but she’s also got a big heart and it was great to see both characters grow in this book.

There were a few surprises throughout Tethered Bonds – in fact one part shocked me so much I gasped and shouted “no way!!” Haha! I’m definitely interested to see where all these characters lives take them in the future, and I’m fairly confident with the way things were heading that we will be getting a Slade book soon, so hopefully we will get more then!

Oh, and I love, love LOVED seeing Grizz and Ginny again. Grizz owns a huge part of my heart and seeing him at this stage in his life is just perfection, and made me want to do an instant series re-read! *dreamy sigh* Grab your copy of Tethered Souls, and if you’re not up to date on the series yet, what are you waiting for??

Review – ROME’S CHANCE by Joanna Wylde

Joanna Wylde is back with a brand new Reaper’s book!! Check it out below…

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Joanna Wylde comes a new story in her Reapers MC series…

Rome McGuire knew he was in trouble the first time he saw her.

She was sweet and pretty and just about perfect in every way. She was also too young and innocent for the Reapers Motorcycle Club. He did the right thing, and walked away.

The second time, he couldn’t resist tasting her.

Gorgeous and smart, fun and full of wonder, she jumped on his bike and would’ve followed him anywhere. Still, she deserved a shot at happiness somewhere bigger and better than a town like Hallies Falls. Walking away wasn’t so easy that time, but her family needed her and he had a job to do.

When she came around a third time, he’d had enough. Randi Whittaker had been given two chances to escape, and now it was time for Rome to take his.

This time, the only way Randi would be leaving Hallies Falls was on the back of Rome’s bike.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

I am a big fan of Joanna Wylde’s Reaper’s series so I pre-ordered Rome’s Chance as soon as I found out about it! This is a novella set after book 6 in the Reaper’s series, though it can be read as a stand-alone, it’s best enjoyed if you’re already up to date with the addictive MC series. (Seriously, if you haven’t met Horse, Ruger, Picnic and the crew you’re missing out!!)

Admittedly, this wasn’t my favourite book of the series, but it was still an enjoyable read. Being a novella it’s a perfect quickie read which can be easily read in one sitting, and will leave you with a smile on your face (seriously, that ending!!) and a need for more Reaper’s!

I loved Rome, he was sexy and sweet and I couldn’t get enough of him. Randi…I was torn when it came to her. Half the time I really liked her, half the time she was so indecisive about absolutely everything that her back and forth irritated me.

I really liked Randi’s little sister, and I hope we get to see more from her in future books, she definitely has a story to tell, and it was great to see Gage and Tinker again. Bring on the next full length Reaper’s book so I can get more of my biker fix!

I also have a FBBF18 collection which has books from authors attending the Four Brits Book Fest 18 event I co-organise, so I’ll be going between the two collections over the next few months when picking my next read.

It’s going to be a tough one, any advice??

Review – THE SEA OF TRANQUILITY by Katja Millay

An oldie but a goodie!

I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

Former piano prodigy Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone learning about her past and to make the boy who took everything from her—her identity, her spirit, her will to live—pay.

Josh Bennett’s story is no secret: every person he loves has been taken from his life until, at seventeen years old, there is no one left. Now all he wants is be left alone and people allow it because when your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, the mysterious new girl at school who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life. But the more he gets to know her, the more of an enigma she becomes. As their relationship intensifies and the unanswered questions begin to pile up, he starts to wonder if he will ever learn the secrets she’s been hiding—or if he even wants to.

The Sea of Tranquility is a rich, intense, and brilliantly imagined story about a lonely boy, an emotionally fragile girl, and the miracle of second chances.

I bought and read The Sea Of Tranquility on January 2nd 2013, and I have re-read it numerous times over the years. It’s one of those New Adult books which never gets old, never loses its power to create such intense passion and emotion in its reader. I don’t think there’s been a single time since that very first, that I haven’t cried at least once while reading it.

Nastya and Josh’s story is one that everyone who loves angsty and emotional books needs to read. It has had me hooked every time I’ve read it, desperate to read more, to continue reliving their heartbreaking and beautiful tale. And to this day, it still has the very best last line of any book I’ve ever read! (But don’t be a cheater and read that first!!)

It’s now been over 5 years since the book first released, and unluckily for fans, Katja Millay has seemingly disappeared from the book world, leaving The Sea Of Tranquility to be the first and only book this incredibly talented writer has published. Katja, if you just so happen to see this, we still love your words, we miss you, and thank you.

Katja Millay graduated with a degree in film and television production from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and has worked as a television producer and film studies & screenwriting teacher. Her debut novel The Sea of Tranquility was a recipient of the American Library Association’s Alex Award and was named one of the Best Books of 2013 by the School Library Journal. She currently resides in Florida with her family.

Week In Books – w/e – 15/4/18

Week In Books is a feature where I catch you up on my week in the book world, whether it be new books I’ve one-clicked, books that have caught my eye, book-world news, reviews, and what I’ve been reading that week. I’d love to see your own Week In Books in the comments!

I have finally started my ARC of The Chateau by Tiffany Reisz, and I couldn’t more excited to be back in the world of the Original Sinners. I’ve only just started it so no real views yet, but I’m positive it’s going to be another amazing read from this author.

I’m thinking it’s going to have to be the fantastic writing duo Christina Lauren’s latest release, Love And Other Words. I’ve heard nothing but incredible things about this one, it’s not like anything they’ve written before and I’m itching to dive in.

  • So as you just saw, Christina Lauren released Love And Other Words on Tuesday. You can still read the prologue, chapter one, chapter two, chapter three, and Chapter four over on their blog.
  • Michelle Leighton (formerly writing as M Leighton) has released her first book in quite some time titled The Dandelion. This looks to be a heartbreaking second chance love story – a definite one-click!
  • Another new release came from Jewel E Ann – she released the second book in her Transcend duo, Epoch. All my book friends rave about this series so Transcend and Epoch are high on my TBR!
  • Sally Thorne has a new book coming out in January 2019 (I know it’s age away!!) and you can pre-order it now! It’s called 99 Percent Mine and even the title makes me excited to read it!
  • Ricochet by Kerri Lake is on sale for just 99p! I really liked this one, it’s a dark standalone antihero romance.
  • Meghan Quinn’s book Three Blind Dates is just 99p for a matter of days so you need to snap this one up!!
  • There’s a new Reapers MC novella coming!!!! I am crazy obsessed with this series and Rome’s Chance by Joanna Wylde is releasing on April 24th! I cannot wait!!!
  • Kate Stewart has a new book out! It’s called The Real and I’ve heard it’s another epic romance which is sure to bring tears!
  • I got 2 reviews up on the blog this week! First up was Pepper Winters’ latest, The Boy And His Ribbon, and OMG you guys, it was beyond incredible. Read my 5 star review and get clicking! It’s a must!!
  • And I finally reviewed the awesome Rock Chick series by the Queen Kristen Ashley. I gave the series an overall 4 stars but there’s a few hidden 5 stars within. I’m sad the series is over but if anyone hasn’t yet met the Hot Bunch, have a read of my review and dive in!

That’s all I’ve got for you this week, make sure you check back for the next Week In Books, and sign up to my blog to receive email updates!

Review – ROCK CHICK SERIES by Kristen Ashley

I have been a fan of the Rock Chick series by Kristen Ashley for a long time now, and as I was reading the very last book which released this week, I realised I had yet to review this series! So here I am, with a quick, spoiler free full series review from one of the most fun fictional worlds I’ve ever been a part of. Happy reading.

Indy Savage, cop’s daughter, rock chick and used bookstore owner, has been in love with Lee Nightingale, once bad boy, now the man behind Nightingale Investigations, since she was five years old. No matter what ingenious schemes Indy used to capture his attention, Lee never showed an interest and Indy finally gave up. Now Indy’s employee, Rosie, has lost a bag of diamonds and bad guys are shooting at him. When Indy gets involved, Lee is forced to help. Complicating matters, Lee has decided he’s interested, Indy’s decided she’s not. But she can’t seem to keep Lee out of her life when she’s repeatedly stun gunned, kidnapped and there are car bombs exploding (not to mention she’s finding dead bodies).

Indy’s best bet is to solve the mystery of the diamonds before Lee. Lee’s challenge is to keep Indy alive and, at the same time, win back her heart.

It was about 4 years ago when I picked up my first Rock Chick book and I immediately became hooked, powering through the series like there was no tomorrow. No one writes alphas like Kristen Ashley does, she is the ultimate queen, and the Hot Bunch are some of my absolute favourites! And let’s not forget the kick ass heroines she writes either. The Rock Chicks give you endless amounts of laughs and crazy adventures, with countless tasers, shootings, and kidnappings.

Each book focuses on a different Rock Chick and her chosen Hot Bunch member, though we always get to see the whole gang in each book, and they are all just as loveable as the last. Eddie Chavez the sexy Mexican American police officer from book 2 was my favourite throughout the entire series, but then after book 8 we finally got Daisy and Marcus’ story (though it’s technically a prequel novella) and suddenly my heart was split in two by the most unlikely of character. *dreamy sigh*

And then to celebrate the authors 50th birthday, she surprised us with the book we have spent years begging for – Shirleen. She’s a favourite to everyone and I cannot tell you how happy I was to see her get her HEA. The series now officially feels complete, though I will continue to revisit the gang when I feel the need for an adventure. And now I mention it…

Rock Chick Reawakening #0.5 | Rock Chick #1 | Rock Chick Rescue #2 | Rock Chick Redemption #3 | Rock Chick Renegade #4 | Rock Chick Revenge #5 | Rock Chick Reckoning #6 | Rock Chick Regret #7 | Rock Chick Revolution #8 | Rock Chick Reborn #9

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

Review – THE BOY AND HIS RIBBON by Pepper Winters

Another truly gripping read from Pepper Winters. The Boy And His Ribbon is a must read!!

“What do you do when you meet your soul mate? No wait…that’s too easy. What do you do when you meet your soul mate and have to spend a lifetime loving him in secret?

I’ll tell you what you do.

You lie.”

Ren was eight when he learned that love doesn’t exist—that the one person who was supposed to adore him only cared how much he was worth.

His mother sold him and for two years, he lived in terror.

But then…he ran.

He thought he’d run on his own. Turned out, he took something of theirs by accident and it became the one thing he never wanted and the only thing he ever needed.

I was young when I fell in love with him, when he switched from my world to my everything.

My parents bought him for cheap labour, just like they had with many other kids, and he had the scars to prove it.

At the start, he hated me, and I could understand why.

For years he was my worst enemy, fiercest protector, and dearest friend.

But by the end…he loved me.

The only problem was, he loved me in an entirely different way to the way I loved him.

And slowly, my secret drove us apart.

Pepper Winters is known for writing big books, and the fact that I read this book in one day, is testament to just how truly brilliant The Boy And His Ribbon is. I was instantly sucked into Ren and Della’s heartbreaking story of forbidden love, and the more I read, the tighter both my chest and throat felt from trying to hold in the emotion.

This is a two part series, so if you’re completely against reading books with unresolved endings, then I advise you to wait until June when book 2 releases, but if you’re happy either way then please read this book!! It is so powerful and moving and utterly heart-rendering.

This book spans 18 years, and in those years I read a story not like any I’ve read before. A story I didn’t realise I wanted to know – no, scrap that – a story I didn’t realise I needed to know until I turned that first page. A story that only Pepper Winters could tell. And tell it she did. A very worthy 5 star read. Bring on The Girl And Her Ren.

Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero the better and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex… her books have sex.

She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby (who speaks French—hot!) who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends. She loves to hear from her readers so hit her up at

Week In Books – w/e 1/4/18

Week In Books is a feature where I catch you up on my week in the book world, whether it be new books I’ve one-clicked, books that have caught my eye, book-world news, reviews, and what I’ve been reading that week. I’d love to see your own Week In Books in the comments!

I asked and you guys responded! One Day In December by Josie Silver was chosen to be my next read and I am loving it! I laughed from page one, and I can’t wait to see where this book goes next. One Day In December is Josie’s debut novel and it’s set to release on September 1st for Kindle, and October for paperback/hardcover. I am so in love with this cover.

Edited to add: Oh god, you guys. This book has taken on a whole new path I did not expect. My poor heart. It doesn’t know whether to soar or flatline. I can’t put it down.

So I’m thinking it’s going to be between my ARCs of The Chateau by Tiffany Reisz (more Kingsley – yes please!!!), and The Boy And His Ribbon by Pepper Winters. It’s another impossible choice as they both look amazing, so again, I’m going to need your help!! Which should I go for??

  • The amazing writing duo, Christina Lauren, are releasing a new book on April 10th called Love And Other Words, and in the lead up to its release, they’ve been revealing chapters on their website! You can check out the prologue, chapter one, and chapter two!
  • Monica Murphy released a new book called Her Defiant Heart exclusively on iBooks! Unfortunately that does mean that for the time being (or forever?) you can’t read it anywhere else, but YAY for a new Monica Murphy book!!
  • FREE BOOK ALERT!! BB Easton’s novel 44 Chapters About 4 Men is currently free at the time of posting!! I’ve heard amazing things about this book and author so I’ve just snapped this up!!
  • I posted two new reviews on the blog this week, and both were 5 stars!! Oh, it’s good to have my reading mojo back! First up was Drive by Kate Stewart, sexy and gritty and angsty perfection! And then there was The Watermark by Tiffany Reisz which is found in the Exposed anthology, Søren’s sometimes sub, Simone, finds herself a secretly kinky cowboy! Full of Reisz’s signature style, it’s a must read for all Original Sinners fans!

That’s all I’ve got for you this week, make sure you check back for the next Week In Books, and sign up to my blog to receive email updates!
