New Review – Blog Tour: REV by JC Emery

With the looming threat from the Mancuso Crime Family, the Forsaken Motorcycle Club is preparing for a war that could destroy them.

Grady, the club’s Sergeant-at-Arms, knows that love makes you weak, and he has zero interest in adding to his liabilities– especially now. He’s already got his teenage daughter who keeps him on his toes and a beef within the club that could fracture his relationship with a fellow brother for good.

For Holly Mercer, her life is finally getting on track and the last thing she wants is trouble from her hometown’s resident outlaws. Keeping her nose clean is easier said than done, when suddenly she finds herself embroiled in club business. Holly might like the idea of being with a real-life bad boy, but even being in the same room with tough-as-nails Grady flusters her.

When Holly inadvertently finds herself on Mancuso’s radar, she has two choices: trust that Grady will protect her, or continue to refuse the club’s help.

Both roads are dangerous, but only one has the chance to damage her beyond repair.Love is never more dangerous than when it can destroy you.

This series has been a bit of a crazy ride for me. I wasn’t a huge fan of book #1, but I absolutely loved book #2. Coming up to the release of book #3 and I admit, after THRASH turning out so good, I was definitely excited about reading the latest addition to the BAYONET SCARS series, but was it all I had hoped?

Much like the series as a whole, I have mixed feelings over REV. I generally liked Holly as a character. She was a bit spunky and I loved that she wasn’t afraid to stand up to Grady, even though he could be pretty scary and intimidating. But she had a tendency to come off as kind of irritating at times. I loved Grady, himself. Loved, loved, loved him! I am such a sucker for a Harley riding guy in a leather cut, and Grady was no exception.

I love how the storyline involving the Mancuso crime family is still ongoing, and the brothers are under constant threat, because it helps to keep it exciting, and keeps you on your toes because you just don’t know what will happen next.

The story had a habit of jumping from one point to another though. Throughout the book as I started a new chapter, and was hoping for the previous scene to continue on so I could find out what happened, it skipped to something completely different, and this happened in a big way towards the very end, with nothing really being resolved.

And if you suffer from triggers then be careful when reading this book. There is a very graphic, disturbing scene in REV that I would probably advice you not to read.

I was in two minds about rating this book. 3.5 or 4 stars?? But my love for Grady won out. This series has so much potential, and I’m not giving up on it yet.

Great news! Jeremy and Cheyanne are getting their very own novella! CRUSH releases June 10th, and you can check out the cover and synopsis here –

Young love is always perfect. Until it’s not.

Cheyenne Grady is a total daddy’s girl to her bad-ass father, the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club. She’s funny, and kind, and she just wants that deep, earth-shattering love like her dad has with her school secretary, Holly. But Cheyenne’s been looking in the wrong direction, because the only good that can come from the way she looks at Jeremy Whelan is a lesson in heartbreak.

Jeremy always wanted to prospect for the Forsaken Motorcycle Club and wear the same patch as his father. When a life-long dream becomes reality, Jeremy realizes that the outlaw lifestyle is not for the faint of heart. Nor is it easy on relationships. He wants to be a good man, but temptation is everywhere.

Cheyenne is beautiful, and strong, and exactly what Jeremy could have forever. As long as he doesn’t screw it up.

Love is never more powerful than the first time.
