New Review – TANGLED by Emma Chase

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything – or anyone – derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating. Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all.

Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life? Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…

just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

I am an idiot.

There’s no two ways about it. A complete and utter fool.

Because when everyone in the book world was reading Emma Chase’s debut novel…I wasn’t.

I always knew that a wanted to read it, but at the time, I guess I was just looking for something that people weren’t already raving about.

So time past. Quite a lot of time. And it got buried somewhere in my TBR.

And then I got an email from Simon & Schuster asking if I wanted to review the book, and I thought…now! Now is finally the time to find if the much loved Drew Evans, lives up to all the hype.

Now, I’m going to go back and remind you what I stated at the top of this review.

I am an idiot.

Because oh, boy; did this guy live up to the hype!

It’s impossible not to fall completely head over heels in love with Drew. He’s perfect book boyfriend material. Charming. Handsome. Funny. Charismatic. A little arrogant. And a whole lot loveable.

I laughed so hard while reading this book. Repeatedly! I don’t really know what I was expecting from TANGLED, but I didn’t think that it would be as funny as it was. Drew had me in stitches on so many different occasions that I lost count.

He just has this unique way of telling a story that had me completely immersed in everything he had to say.

He was your typical playboy until the day that Kate walked into his life.

Now this is where the fun really starts.

And again, it was definitely unexpected.

The competition between the two of them…even now, I can’t help but laugh just thinking about it. They were such a great duo of characters and they played off each other so well, that their chemistry was tangible.

How could you not want the guy to get the girl?

But I’m not the only idiot where this story is concerned.

Oh, Drew… There was definitely a few *facepalm* and *shakes head* moments thrown into the mix.

But then comes the moment where, if you didn’t already love him before, you will quickly change your mind. And if you did love him, well…prepare for him to take over even more of your heart.

Overall, this book was just fantastic, and I can safely say that I now have the Drew Evans fever. TANGLED was hilariously funny, outrageously sexy, undeniably addicting, and brilliantly brought to life.

TANGLED by Emma Chase is a Hot Reads Must Read.
