Bikers!!!! Need I say more? Check out my 3.5 Star Review and make sure you enter the giveaway!
Principessa to the Mancuso crime family, Alexandra knows a thing or two about living outside the bounds of the law. Suffocated by the future her father has laid out for her, she makes a choice she can’t take back, changing the entire trajectory of her life.
Thrust into the dark and dangerous world of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club for her own protection, Alex finds herself faced with the last thing she needs right now: the man of her dreams. He’s sex in leather, the devil incarnate, and one hell of a kisser. But he’s also off-limits. Ryan Stone can be her friend, but he’s forbidden to be her lover.
Third-generation Forsaken, Ryan knows nothing other than life on two wheels, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. He enjoys the many privileges that come with the patch, and the only laws he recognizes are the ones set-forth by his club. That is, until who he wants more than anything isn’t allowed on the back of his bike —or in his bed. Balancing his desire for her body, and need to keep her safe, Ryan tries to keep Alex at a distance. Finally having made a choice for herself, she’s done hearing the word “no” and will push boundaries even Ryan himself doesn’t dare cross.
Love is never more tempting than when it’s forbidden.

Everyone knows I love myself a biker so it was a no-brainer that I was going to read Ride by JC Emery, and HELLO smoking hot cover! I also loved the synopsis, and thought merging the worlds of the Mafia and the Bikers together to create one kick ass book was a great idea!
Alex has been brought up by her mobster family to be the perfect little Principessa that does as she’s told and will be the model wife to whomever her father chooses for her. But there’s one major rule when it comes to families such as these, and that is to never talk to anyone outside of the family about family business. And when Alex breaks that rule, she is thrust into the life of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club.
As they travelled the long distance from Alex’s home in New York, to the home of the Forsaken in California, we slowly get to meet some of the members of the biker club and one of them is the gorgeous Ryan, step-son to her aunt, Ruby. As you can imagine, traveling for days on bikes, there wasn’t a whole lot of communication and this had me really excited for when Alex and Ryan would get the chance to really get to know each other. But even once they made it to her new home, that didn’t really happen.
Ryan tended to avoid Alex most of the time because he didn’t want to choose her over his patch (MC lingo) which was completely fair enough! But I was disappointed that because he spent so long staying away from her, and when he did see her he was the biggest A-hole around, their relationship didn’t really get chance to develop and I couldn’t feel any chemistry between them.
There were some great characters in Duke, Jim, and Nic but my absolute favourite was Ruby! She was awesome and I completely loved her from the very first meeting and she makes me wish I was related to her because I loved her personality and just generally how she was as a whole. She was definitely the stand out character for me.
The end of the book was SO good and had me on the edge of my seat but it all happened so quickly! It was over in no time at all and I was left wishing that it had been dragged out for a while longer to get the full effect of the explosive ending to the book. Though Ryan does finally pull his finger out, so, GO RYAN!
Ride was an enjoyable read with a twist on the usual biker book, and I look forward to seeing what JC Emery brings us next with the Forsaken Motorcycle Club.
As a child, JC was fascinated by things that went bump in the night. As they say, some things never change. Now, as an adult, she divides her time between the sexy law men, mythical creatures, and kick-ass heroines that live inside her head and pursuing her bachelor’s degree in English. JC is a San Francisco Bay Area native, but has also called both Texas and Louisiana home. These days she rocks her flip flops year round in Northern California and can’t imagine a climate more beautiful.
JC writes adult, new adult, and young adult fiction. She dabbles in many different genres including science fiction, horror, chick lit, and murder mysteries, yet she is most enthralled by supernatural stories– and everything has at least a splash of romance.
