Donna’s Review ~ 4.5 Stars

I loved this book…4.5 Stars for me! What a debut for Layne Harper! The cover is what drew me in initially but when I read they synopsis I knew it was for me. I mean who wouldn’t fall for a sexy star quarterback who worships the ground you walk on. I will definitely be picking up book 2 in the series when it releases.

Caroline “Charlie” Collins, is a sophomore at A & M who wants to go to medical school, become a partner in her father’s Orthopedic practice and eventually find love and her happy ever after. But things don’t always go as planned.

Meet Colin McKinney the super sexy, suave, All-Star quarterback for Texas A & M. His dream is playing in the NFL. His three loves, Big Bertha, Charlie and Football.

Caroline a/k/a Charlie and Colin meet during her sophomore year when Colin requires physical therapy for an injury and is being treated at her father’s practice. They agree to carpool to Colin’s therapy sessions once a week and slowly begin to learn more about one another. But when therapy ended, so did their contact.

While out with her best friend Rachel, she runs into Colin again and sparks fly. But contact is sporadic until a weekend getaway. They had just been friends or so it seemed.

“Caroline, you are the most beautiful girl in the world, Marry Me.”
I stood on my tip-toes and whispered in his ear, “Not today.”

While in her senior year of college Charlie gets the news she has always hoped for…she’s been accepted to Harvard. Colin being quarterback for Dallas makes it impossible for him to relocate with her. Charlie knows that they cannot survive 4 years apart. She puts off the inevitable only to delay the pain.

“Charlie, when you walked into your dad’s office on the first day we met, I knew that you were something special. These last two years haven’t always been easy, but I never once regretted meeting you until this moment.”

Fast forward 8 long years….Caroline is practicing medicine in her father’s practice and has been asked to attend a dinner honoring a football great in California. She has always wondered what it would be like to run into Colin McKinney again but the wait is over. Is the chemistry still there? The Pain? Has time healed old wounds? Or will they Fall into Infinity?
